What are your membership options?
The Gym Glenelg offers a couple of different membership options to suit your needs. For more info, head over to our memberships page.
Do I need to be locked into a contract?
We understand if commitment isn’t really your thing. That’s why we offer a Flexible Membership for just $18.95 per week with no lock-in contract. So that means you can cancel at any time with 14 days written notice (don’t worry – you can still use the facilities through this period!).
Is there a joining fee?
Our direct debit memberships have an initial start-up cost of $99. But don’t worry, we promise it’s worth it. Our initial cost covers your enrolment in the direct debit system, your 24/7-access key and lanyard, as well as two 45-minute sessions with one of our awesome Personal Trainers who can help develop personalised fitness plans to suit your needs. You don’t pay this the day you join – its paid via direct debit on an agreed date.
CAN I BRING A FRIEND IN?
Of course you can bring a buddy in! We have a few ways you can do this:
- Each Monday (excluding Public Holidays) you can bring a friend or family member in during staffed hours for free! Simply bring them to reception during staffed hours only. Photo ID required.
- If your buddy lives or works locally, they can apply for a free trial through our website here. That way, they can come in for 5 days to experience The Gym Glenelg with you. Photo ID required.
- If your buddy doesn’t live or work locally, we have cost-effective casual membership options so that they can keep their training up whilst in Glenelg. See reception for more info.
Do you have personal trainers?
We don’t want to brag, but we have some of the best Personal Trainers in the business who each bring to the table something unique. Whether you are looking to build strength, increase endurance or cardiovascular output, are training for something specific, want to lose weight or need help with rehabilitation, we have the right trainer for you. WHAT DOES PERSONAL TRAINING COST?
Each of our Personal Trainers specialises in something different and therefore their pricing can vary. So whilst we can’t give you a specific quote, we recommend that you come in to speak with one of our team members today to find out which PT is best suited to your needs. They will then be able to give you a rough cost estimate for a session. It is also worth noting that all new members receive two complimentary 45-minute sessions with a trainer so if you haven’t taken advantage of this offer yet, you’d better get in quick!
I am over 60 and have limitations. Is exercise right for me?
Age is no barrier. Regardless of your age, or any limitations you may have, our team of dedicated fitness professional have both the knowledge and tools to help achieve your goals. Dedicated personal training sessions might be the best starting point or attending our Active Adults class, which is specifically designed for members over the age of 60 who are looking to improve their overall health or increasing their mobility.
Do you offer group fitness classes?
Heck yes, we do! The Gym Glenelg is proud to offer a wide range of group fitness classes across three purpose-built studios each week. In the Mind Body Studio, you will find Yoga, Pilates and BODYBALANCE classes. Over in the Cycle Studio, we have SPIN45 and RPM, and in the Main Studio we offer BODYPUMP, BODYATTACK, CORE, PWR45, FIT45, HIIT, and Active Adults. All group fitness classes are included in your membership, so no need to pay anything extra. You can find our Group Fitness Timetable here.
What are your staffed hours?
The Gym Glenelg is staffed Monday to Thursday from 8:00am – 7.00pm, and Friday to Saturday from 8:00am – 12:00pm. Sundays and Public Holidays are unstaffed. If you need to contact us during this time, send an email to reception or swing us a message on Facebook and we will endeavour to respond as soon as we can.
MY ACCESS KEY ISN’T WORKING – WHAT DO I DO?
Uh oh! Don’t worry – we’ve got you. Simply call us on (08) 8377 6555 or visit us during the staffed hours and we’ll help.
I need to update my DETAILS – What do I do?
You can update your address and bank details by filling out a form at reception next time you are in-club. To update credit card details, we only do this in person or over the phone. If you have any other questions, you can either ask our team at the front desk or jump on your computer and send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
CAN I SUSPEND MY MEMBERSHIP?
Yes, you can! Our memberships can be suspended for a minimum of 7 days at a time and a maximum of 28 days (unless approved otherwise). To suspend your membership, visit us in club or send an email to email@example.com
DO YOU HAVE LOCKERS?
There are a number of lockers options located throughout the club. We have three pigeon hole locker areas – one in the cardio area, another by the drink fountain in the hall and a third in front of the Cycle Studio. There is also another inside the Main Studio. If you are looking for something a bit more secure, you will find lockable lockers inside the female and male bathrooms and in the main hall. Place your belongings inside the locker, close the door and enter a 4-digit PIN of your choice followed by the # key. To unlock the locker, simply re-enter your chosen 4-digit PIN and press #. If you forgot your PIN, ask one of our friendly team members to lend a hand. Please keep in mind the lockable lockers are only available for use during staffed hours.
WHAT AGE CAN I GET A MEMBERSHIP?
Here at The Gym Glenelg, we are passionate about people starting exercise as early as possible. Although, given that we are a 24-hour business, we have guidelines and limitations to follow to ensure people under 18 can exercise safely:
- All members under the age of 18 require a parent or guardian’s signed permission.
- 12 Years Old & Younger: Not able to access the facility as a member or guest.
- 13 to 14 Years Old: Not able to access the facility as a member or guest, unless approved by Management.
- 15 Years Old: Can access the facility with an access key, however, required constant supervision from a parent, guardian, Group Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer. Eligible to participate in non-weight-based equipment and group classes.
- Over 16 Years Old: Can access the facility outside of staffed hours with their 24-hour access key without direct supervision from a parent, guardian, Group Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer.
- Members are not allowed to bring their children to sit in our Members’ lounge while they exercise.
IS IT EASY TO GET A CAR PARK?
Yes! We have over 300 onsite car parks. Most spaces are free for 3 hours, please read the signs.
